In royal tradition, this was the bathing ritual reserved for Mehfils (evening gatherings of poetry and music) and Darbar (court appearances) where one needed to embody both beauty and presence. The combination bridges "Soundarya" (external beauty) with "Sugandha" (divine fragrance) - the dual essence of royal grooming. This practice was particularly associated with Empress Nur Jahan (Mughal era, 1577-1645) who was famous for her rose-based beauty innovations and is credited with inventing Ittar (perfume oil).
